euroCRIS at the kick-off event for PUCPCRIS

The PUCPCRIS institutional CRIS at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) in Lima will be launched during an event on Thu 23 Nov. Given this overlaps with the Autumn 2023 Strategic Membership Meeting, it's not possible to euroCRIS to deliver a presentation at this event, not even a remote one, but we have contributed a short pre-recorded presentation welcoming the new Pure-based CRIS to the ever wider CRIS network in the country and beyond.

Final SMM2023 Pamplona programme available

The programme for the Autumn 2023 Strategic Membership Meeting of euroCRIS that will be held Nov 21-23 at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) in Pamplona has already been finalised and is available on the event website. The SMM2023 programme will as usual include a national session on Day I showcasing recent developments in the CRIS landscape in Spain and a good number of contributions from euroCRIS members on Day II.

CRIS-related publications released

Two articles on CRIS-related topics have been published recently. A first one on the migration of 120,000 legacy publications from several systems into a CRIS using advanced data wrangling techniques at Tampere University was published in MDPI Publications on Nov 14. A second one on the FAIRification of CRIS was published last Sep in the Proceedings for the International Joint Conference on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Engineering, and Knowledge Management 2022.

CRIS talk at SITIC2023 UCLV in Cuba

The euroCRIS talk "Current Research Information Systems (CRIS): Tracing Research Activity" will be delivered on Wed Nov 15th at the II Simposio Internacional sobre "Generación y Transferencia de Conocimiento para la Transformación Digital" (SITIC2023) in Cuba. The event is organised by the Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de Las Villas (UCLV) in Cayos de Villa Clara and will address three main themes: Academia-Industry collaboration for IT development, Information and knowledge for development and Data Science and Big Data.

Ils De Bal joins euroCRIS Board

We are happy to announce that Ils de Bal has joined the Board in Oct 2023 as a replacement for former euroCRIS President and fellow Flemish expert in research information management Sadia Vancauwenbergh, who stepped down as a Board member on that date. Ils works as Program Manager at the Flanders Research Information Space (FRIS) at the Departement Economie, Wetenschap en Innovatie (EWI) of the Flemish Government. In that capacity she is one of the most active members of the recently founded CRISCROS WG for national and regional CRIS. Together with her EWI colleague Pascale Dengis, they have delivered plenty of updates on the activity of what is effectively one of the most advanced national/regional CRIS systems worldwide.
