CRIS: the strategic centre of the business

In the previous seminars the following topics have been covered: CRIS + ERA; CRIS + repositories (OA/GRIDs); CRIS + process / GRIDs; CRIS + Innovation; CRIS + e-Infrastructure. The theme for the coming seminar is a CRIS as the mechanism for providing a homogeneous view over repositories, administrative systems (finance, HR, project management) and simultaneously act as the control of workflow and the source for internal (to control systems) and external (view to the world) directories. In other words: CRIS: the strategic centre of the business (in any organisation concerned with research and development).

The previous seminars covered the importance of Research Information (CRIS) for the ERA, the relationship of CRIS and Open Access, the relationship of CRIS and the Research Process, and - the last one - CRIS as a strategic tool for supporting innovation. This seminar will focus on CRIS and e-infrastructure.
