Events
Since its establishment as a formal professional association in 2002 euroCRIS has
developed a cycle of events. These are:
- Biannual Membership Meetings
Aim of these meetings is to involve the members actively in the euroCRIS actions and projects. The work of the euroCRIS Task Groups is discussed and a thematic session with speakers or a workshop is organised. Mostly also half a day is devoted to presentations and discussions of national / regional developments. The membership meetings are organised each time in another country and have also mutual promotional value, both from euroCRIS and the national and regional CRIS communities. On the request of the organising euroCRIS member a CERIF tutorial or courses will be organised. The membership meetings are open for euroCRIS members and the local organising CRIS community.
- Annual Seminars
Since 2003 euroCRIS, together with its partners ALLEA, CODATA, EARMA, ERCIM, ESF and GreyNet, and the European Commission, organises seminars on topics which are of overriding importance for the further development of CRISs. Authoritative speakers are sought for the sessions. The seminar series is open only for representatives of euroCRIS members and euroCRIS partners.
- Biennial Conferences
Up to and including 2000, the European Commission has organised a series of international CRIS conferences. Since then, euroCRIS has taken over the organisation. A Conference Task Group has been established, which developed conference guidelines and together with the local Organising Committee and the Programme Committee takes care for the process as a whole, the paper review process and the academic and professional standards. The conferences are open for all interested individuals and representatives of scientific institutions and businesses.
